Daegu University was founded in 1956 based on the spirit of Love, Light, and Freedom. Since that time, it has grown to become a prestigious private institution in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions.

Over the past 20 years, Daegu University has developed into a cradle of learning with as many as 20,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students preparing to achieve their dreams. Its continual qualitative and quantitative growth under the slogan and vision of a young university, an open-minded university, a grand university, Pride of Daegu, has enabled it to become a leader of university education innovation, and, as stated in one of its slogans, a “University where Students are Happy.”

Daegu University will concentrate all its resources and capabilities on the aim of becoming the most renowned university in each subject and the most successful university in education service satisfaction.
