강릉영동대학교를 찾아주셔서 진심으로 감사드립니다! 개교 60주년을 맞는 2023년의 각오는 여느 때와 다릅니다. 우리 대학이 한 단계 도약하는 한해가 됐으면 하는 바람이 크기 때문입니다. 학령인구의 감소, 지방대학의 어려움 등 구조적인 한계를 극복하고 미래지향적인 교육으로 취업 경쟁력을 끌어올리는 의미있는 분기점을 만들고 싶은 것입니다. 그 일환으로 세운 중장기 발전계획이 바로 입니다. <스마트헬스케어 및 관광·레저분야 디지털 융합교육 혁신선도대학>을 선포한 것도 급변하는 시대에 발맞추기 위한 것입니다. 기존 보건·의료분야부터 AI·메타버스 분야까지 미래형 실무인재를 키워내겠다는 플랜입니다. 특별자치도로 거듭난 강원도에 <평생학습 교육체제>를 갖춰나가는 것은 긴요하고도 시급한 과제입니다. 초고령화 시대에 역점을 기울일 영역입니다. <100세 교육지원 시범대학 운영>, <평생교육체계지원(Life) 사업> 등 성인학습자 중심의 교육 환경으로 지방자치단체와 대학이 함께 상생할 수 있는 기틀을 마련할 계획입니다. 입시(入試)와 수학(修學) 그리고 취업(就業). 대학의 3대 키워드입니다. 공정한 입시에 이은 인품과 능력을 키우는 수학 그리고 높은 취업 경쟁력까지. 저는 강릉영동대학이 이 삼박자를 성실히 수행해내는 명문사학이 될 수 있도록 최선을 다할 각오입니다. 학생과 교직원들도 격의없는 소통을 통해 힘을 모아나갑시다. 감사합니다!

Thank you for visiting Gangneung Yeongdong University. This year of 2023, marking the 60th anniversary of university, we’re resolutely determined, hoping to lead Gangneung Yeongdong University to make an important step forward. We aspire to make this year a meaningful turning point to overcome structural limitations including the decline in the school-age population and the difficulties of local universities and to enhance employment competitiveness with future-oriented education. As part of our effort, we‘ve set a mid- to long-term development plan named “GYU AMAZING + 2027.” In addition, we declared ourselves as an innovative and leading university of digital convergence education in the field of smart healthcare, tourism and leisure in order to keep up with the changes in this rapidly changing society. Accordingly, we plan to foster future-oriented competitive talents in various fields ranging from health and medical to AI and metaverse. Gangwon-do Province, now elevated to a Special Self-Governing Province, should take seriously the urgent task of establishing a “lifelong education system,” which is a must in the super-aged age. We plan to lay the foundation for the establishment of an adult learner-centered educational environment such as an operation of a pilot university supporting life-long education and lifelong education system support project so that local governments and universities could coexist. Entrance exam, study, and employment — these are the three main keywords of the university. From the fair entrance examination to study leading to the development of personality and ability, as well as to high employment competitiveness, I am determined to make my utmost effort to make Gangneung Yeongdong University become a prestigious private institution for higher education in consideration of these three keywords. I also hope the students and faculty members join and work together through active communication. Thank you.
